HEALTH WORKERS BONUSES NEXT WEEK

NURSES and other health workers are expected to receive their annual bonuses starting next week, with Finance Minister Professor Mthuli Ncube assuring civil servants that the Government has the funds to meet its obligations.

Speaking on the sidelines of the 2027 National Pre-Budget Seminar in Bulawayo on Saturday, Prof Ncube said the Government remained committed to paying annual bonuses without difficulty.

He said civil servants would receive their bonuses in recognition of their hard work, adding that the Second Republic had never missed an annual bonus payment.

“The civil servants bonus payments will be met without difficulty. We are going to pay bonuses to civil servants as is the case,” he said.

Prof Ncube also revealed that Government had extended annual bonuses to traditional chiefs from last year, recognising their contribution to communities.

He said the payments marked a historic development, as traditional leaders had not received bonuses since independence in 1980.

The minister reiterated that Government would honour its commitment to civil servants, including nurses and other health workers.
