Zinara doubles revenue collection

ZINARA’s revenue collection more than doubled in 2025, reaching ZiG12,5 billion (US$469,3 million) compared to ZiG6,4 billion the previous year, buoyed by increased disbursements to road authorities and high-impact projects.

Presenting a report to Parliament’s Portfolio Committee on Transport and Infrastructural Development yesterday, chief executive officer Mr Nkosinathi Ncube detailed the funds’ collection and disbursement.

ZINARA is mandated to collect revenue and channel it to road authorities for maintenance and construction projects.

“Revenue collected for 2025 closed at ZiG12,5 billion, equivalent to US$469,3 million,” Mr Ncube said.

From this total, ZINARA disbursed ZiG9,1 billion (US$341,8 million), representing 73 percent of revenue. This was 12 percent above the ZiG8,3 billion (US$305 million) target set for all road authorities and high-impact projects.

These projects include the maintenance of the Mutare-Plumtree road, financed through a Development Bank of South Africa loan.
